This Is a Moment to Push Back

Life is precious.

I want to go a little off script today.

We all carry stories that didn’t unfold the way we imagined.

Paths that weren’t planned.

Forks we didn’t expect to take.

My own path into Customer Success was anything but linear. I didn’t wake up one day and decide this would be my profession. Like most careers, it emerged from messy circumstances, unexpected opportunities, and a willingness to keep moving forward.

Adversity has a way of rewriting the script. Not the small inconveniences — the real challenges. The kind that shake identity, stability, or direction. We all carry them differently. They’re uniquely ours. But they don’t define us unless we surrender the pen.

And sometimes, the act of choosing again — of stepping onto a different path — is exactly how a new chapter begins.

I believe there has never been a more interesting time to be in Customer Success.

CS has always had to prove its value inside systems built around sales. Authority often comes slowly. Recognition unevenly. But the discipline is evolving, and AI is accelerating that evolution.

AI doesn’t remove the need for experience. But it lowers barriers, expands capability, and opens paths that once took years to navigate. For those willing to learn, adapt, and engage thoughtfully, the field is more accessible than it has ever been.

If you’re facing transition, uncertainty, or reinvention — professional or personal — know this:

Your path doesn’t need to look straight to be meaningful.

And it’s never too late to write a different chapter.

When life pushes hard, some withdraw.

Others push back.

This is a moment to push back.
